The Treatment Plan

Inspire dental care offer you the choice of the latest Dental Implant Systems which are at the forefront of implant technology. They have various solutions depending on the patients problem.

  1. To plan pre-implant surgery effectively and avoid damage to sensitive structures such as nerves in the process of implant surgery we would generally take a CT Scan of your jaw bone structure. This will enable us to cut surgery time as a result of more accurate diagnoses and allow you to gain confidence that you have selected the right treatment plan. However each case is examined on an individual basis and a CT scan is not always required.
  2. The procedure can be carried out using local anaesthetic with sedation, or with a general anaesthetic. You will not feel any pain at the time, but you may feel some discomfort during the week following the surgery. Our implantologist is very experienced and will try to minimise surgery time and post healing discomfort.
  3. The implants need to fuse with the bone after they have been put in place. This takes 3 months in the lower jaw and 6 months in the upper jaw. Sometimes the implants may be stable enough after ten weeks.
  4. If you are having one, two or three teeth replaced, you will have a temporary restoration in the meantime. If you are having complete dentures, then these can be worn throughout the healing period once they have been modified after the surgery.
  5. If you are having teeth replaced the dentist will take an impression of the implant for the next appointment when the crown will be fitted.

Regarding you treatment duration please note it will take between 6 – 8 months for completion. However, if you require bone grafting this could extend your treatment time length.
